Introduction to Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSC)

Introduction to
Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSC)

Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSC) belong to multifunctional stem cells located in the mesoderm. They have a high self-proliferation and multidirectional differentiation ability which allows them to target nerve cells, skin cells, bone cells, fat cells, liver cells, etc. The largest source of MSC are from the placenta, umbilical cord and Wharton's Jelly. MSC are known for their homing ability whenever a specific body tissue is damaged/aged which therefore makes them capable of repairing skin injuries, promote anti-inflammation and the healing of skin wounds. Other considerable benefits of MSC treatment are that they are capable of skin cell replacement, stimulate skin cell proliferation and collagen synthesis, as well as inhibit the decay and death of skin cells. It is thanks to all of these capabilities that MSC can produce an anti-aging effect.
